Haven't seen Funny Cow but outside of that, that Lead Actress lineup is god tier.
Also, I don't remember you liking Hereditary this much but it makes me very, very happy.

This is probably the most underwhelming BP line-up I've seen from you...Surprised, No Roma, Blackkklansman, Burning or Eighth Grade! very disappointing Okay.

Surprised that Dillon, Jandreau, Cage didn’t make it. Especially Jandreau and Cage given how much you like The Rider and Mandy.
Also surprised to see Cold War missing BP since you gave Pawilowski a director nomination.

Also surprised to see Cold War missing BP since you gave Pawilowski a director nomination. Believe me, Best Actor was an extremely tough year (if you ignore the Academy) and I had to make a lot of difficult cuts. Jandreau, Cage and Jakob Cedergren would've likely gotten in for 2017, for instance. Cold War was a hard one to cut in Picture as well, but Pawlikowski's direction was just too impeccable to deny in Director. But there were just a couple of movies I enjoyed more overall.

Coogan is such a darling in Stan & Ollie! I know you're crazy about JCR but it's fantastic to see Steve in there too disappointed at some glaring omissions but que sera sera. It's always fun watching your picks and I look forward to seeing the wins. All I'm saying is that there better be more love for Buster Scruggs, Schrader and Beale Street at the AMARAs

Mildly traumatized by the absence of Hawke and Tim Blake Nelson in the acting categories, but these are some eclectic choices overall. I've yet to see quite a few of those Best Actor picks. Very surprised at no Cage given your love for Mandy.

Beautifully put together, you can tell when someone loves watching films. And I don't recall always liking the films you like but I was on board with the majority of your choices ( croosing my finger for Joe Cole ! ) except for Stan & Ollie it made me want to p...

I'm going to assume you have Death of Stalin in 2017? Dude, Simon Russell Beale is my supporting actor winner of 2017. It's like you don't even pay attention to my lineups. That hurts my feelings, mate.

I still desperately need to see The Favorite.
But, I am thoroughly disheartened by the Mandy love.

I still desperately need to see The Favorite. Yes you do. It made me a Lanthimos fan, which I thoroughly wasn't beforehand.

way too much Mandy (can't believe it beat out for cinematography Long Day's Journey Into Night and Cold War both) buuut The Favorite takes the big prize and best actress for Queen Coleman so I am satisfied
and for the record, I'm glad I checked out Overlord last week because the sound really is remarkable. I was probably going to watch it anyways for the makeup but I wouldn't have known to look out for the sound without your nominees videos and it's definitely some sterling work. Also glad I bit the bullet and suffered through Mary Queen of Scots because the production design/costumes/makeup were all truly sublime. Some of the best offerings the genre has seen in a while probably.
