out JD is that her filmography has so few duds - she's like Garbo or Montgomery Clift who were very selective about their work. I think I'd like her a lot less if she was churning out five flop movies a year and signing up to countless TV shows like some other actresses... She is the jewel... in a jewelry box stuffed with shiny, tacky trinkets On page 15 (!?!) of the Best Actor Across Stage/TV/Film thread when Davis was covered I made mention of her Wikipedia page and it is very funny - the way it is listed there - it seems like there is almost nothing that she has done that she hasn't been nominated for some kind of big award for. Now, that doesn't matter much to me and of course it's misleading too because it's just an edit of her TV/filmography but still the person who did her page must really love her and advocates for her because when you see it listed out like that - it's a wow moment. She also handles her career in a batsh it crazy way too that makes her great to talk about - she's selective AND daring and you almost never see that. She's a big time stage actress who doesn't go outside Australia much for theater (just once?) but when she did go to London she was Olivier nominated there too. Then if you look at her film career she goes into some really unexpected territory - she has a decade of just straight drama as far as I know - and then things like Barton Fink (or The Ref ) and a lot of real broad comic stuff etc. - sometimes even within drama itself she's really broad in an adventurous way (Husbands and Wives) - she has a real uncanny range of stylistic versatility in her arsenal.
Oh honey, yes - and she has also done Shakespeare for the BBC! Few Australian actresses have done that... (and Ibsen & Chekhov).

Just made me wonder if Streep has ever worked with another major actress on three occasions? She’s already worked with Emily Blunt on 3 films, would’ve been four if Blunt hadn’t let Adams take the part in Doubt (who is also a 2x collaborator, as is Laura Dern with two projects with Meryl this year alone).

Naomi Watts for me if we count her as Australian.

Part of this discussion in this thread for me - and I know it's just a pacinoyes thing - is the use of the word "greatest" as opposed to "best".
Everyone hears that word "greatest" a little differently imo - to some they are interchangeable and mean the same exact thing. To me however they are 2 completely different things and one of them I know how to judge ("best") and the other one just makes me question the question ("what do you mean precisely by "greatest" again?).

Oh honey, well if you are talking about The Greatest... then it would probably be me!
I know I'm not Australian... technically, but I am an actress and can be an Australian if you want me to be:
'G'day, Rob’s having Barbie at the beach today... hey! don't shake your billabong so close to mah face'.

Everybody is suddenly keen on talking about Australian actresses again (wonder why? ), so figured this thread deserved a bump. To dispel some myths (I'll be generous and call it ignorance as opposed to flat-out lies), your Greatest Australian Actress Ever, Nicole Kidman (going by votes on this thread anyway) made her US stage Broadway Debut in late 1998 in The Blue Room to very strong critical notices at the Cort Theatre. Some people may suddenly be claiming to be experts on Nicole Kidman's career, obviously may not know this. Kidman proved a critical hit on Broadway, and her missing a Best Actress Tony Nomination was considered a major snub at the time in theatre and media circles. nypost.com/1999/05/04/kidman-re-buffed-by-tonys-for-room/Kidman did however win a Theatre World award for Best Actress In Play for Broadway, so I guess that was some small consolation. m.facebook.com/TheatreWorldAwards/posts/10155607731305893She is a major on Broadway, even though she has only done it once. Broadway has spent a lot of time and effort trying to get her to come back. In addition, she is a two time Evening Standard Award winner and a two time Olivier Award nominee. These are the two biggest and most prestigious awards in British theatre. She is clearly one of the world's great stage actors, despite not being especially prolific. A major performer in every acting medium.

I'll guess this shade was meant for me (again? sigh) - there is nothing in the posts on Naomi Watts/Nicole Kidman/Cate Blanchett in the other thread that is incorrect that I see so the "implication" that I'm lying is in itself ...........IS the lie.
Nothing you have here contradicts anything in the other thread - I just said she had almost no US stage work if she had got a Tony nod like Blanchett ...........I'd have said it. If she won an Olivier.......I'd have said it.
She didn't......so I didn't.

Well, seeing as how you are constantly ripping off the Genre thread for content to put on the Best Actor/Actress thread, yes that "shade" was meant for you. It was bad enough you doing Keanu Reeves profiles, now this nonsense. You are allegedly a clever guy. I'm sure you can think of things to talk about on that thread without waiting for me to think of it for you.
It's just kind of irritating. Sorry.
PS: You said she had No US stage work, not "almost no US stage work". At the time of this writing you edited your post on Kidman to add "almost " 38 minutes ago. I gave you the benefit of the doubt before that you simply didn't know enough about Kidman's career to realise your error, but trying to edit your way out of it means you are lying now.
Not even sure what the point of the cover-up is. It's not a cardinal sin to not be aware that Kidman has done Broadway.

Hey, that's my job! And I'm here to do it again! "Major snub"? LOL. Here are excerpts from the article you yourself posted: " Kidman's performance generated....praise from critics and Broadway insiders." " Also snubbed were Natasha Richardson and Anna Friel, both of whom won rave reviews for 'Closer'." "Rave reviews" sounds a lot better than "praise from critics and Broadway insiders" to me. Sounds like Richardson and Friel were even bigger snubs than "major snubbee" Kidman. Or maybe she was a "major snub" just because she was a major star, as one Tony nominator put it: "Nothing against Marian, but I think we should have put Kidman in there. She’s a big star and it would have been good to reward her. It would have encouraged other stars to come to Broadway." LOOOOOL! This is a pathetic lie, even by your brazen liar standards. Here is what a Theatre World Award is, from their own site: "At an annual ceremony and an afternoon party attended by former winners and invited members of the theatre community, six actresses and six actors are presented with a Theatre World Award in recognition of their debut performance in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production. The Theatre World Award remains the oldest award given for a debut theatre performance On or Off-Broadway. The contribution this Award has made to the theatre is incalculable. It is not a competition and is it (sic) only given once. Because it is given for a debut performance, it encourages and inspires newcomers to the stage to continue to pursue their dream. It is freely given at a time when encouragement is so necessary in an industry known more for rejection than reception." Sounds like a "Hey, newbie! Here is a come-back-later consolation award for you!" Yes, really major for getting praise on one occasion and winning a "Welcome, Newcomer!" award along with 11 other actors from a no-name organization Funny how British awards don't matter in the case of movies and Denzel Washington but are suddenly "big and prestigious" when they are in favor of Nicole Kidman I'm surprised they didn't approach you for the role of Joker, given how wide your mouth must be stretched from talking out of both sides of it.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt before that you simply didn't know enough about Kidman's career to realise your error, but trying to edit your way out of it means you are lying now.Just like you lied when you said Nicole Kidman won the Theatre World Award for Best Actress in a Play when it's actually a non-competitive award given to 12 debutants every year? What pacinoyes did was a mistake (making a false statement by either forgetting or not knowing that Kidman had done Broadway). What you're doing is making a false statement by deliberately inventing facts. Too bad I'm here to call you out for the liar you are

You're not doing a good job convincing people that you're ignoring me if you're going to acknowledge my presence and my posts without actually responding to their content (which you can't, because I own you like a little bitch).

I'll stay out of this particular beef today but this is his deranged low point - and I want everybody who thinks I argue with this pupdurcs or whoever he is today rather than him having a FNCKING mental condition to look at this thread : * He has a thread - I have a whole separate thread - I specifically gave his thread F*cking CREDIT for inspiring the idea to compare them. STILL that's not enough?????????????? * Naomi Watts isn't even covered IN his thread at all so....................... wtf * He references what was on my post 38 minutes ago but has no FNCKING screen shots????????????????? * Wtf did I even do - not kiss Nicole Kidman's ass enough? Honestly assess her acting which I like? Are you FNCKING telling me I didn't write more eloquently and accurately about her (many) strengths and (not many) weakness than he ever has or could ever hope to actually? * His reply is Theater World Awards - are you Fnking joking? I give up man ...................this dude is too much - I'm out before he tells me he's not gonna be ignored Dan. Moderator!! Moderator!! Help!

Dude...look are your signature . You have no leg to stand on. Everyone knows you are obsessed with me, and whatever I talk about or do. It is what it is . Nothing personal, but you track my movements and content like crazy to mimic (even irrelevant shit from years ago on different sites), and I'm just asking nicely for you to chill and do your own thing.
