I just noticed that 4 of the nominees are adapting their own work.

I guess no one saw Gomorrah or Everlasting Moments at all then? Hell even Blindness or Baader Meinhoff Complex would have been more interesting picks than Slumdog Millionaire and Ron Howard's bland Frost/Nixon.

This was looking SPECTACULAR until we hit the major awards. I guess this means that Wendy and Lucy isn't going anywhere. *sigh*

The fact that Pitt isn't there for giving one of the greatest villain performances of all time that absolutely deserves to be mentioned alongside the Joker and Anton Chigurh is a crime, PERIOD. This voting bloc leaning so hard on Tropic Thunder and In Bruges is freakin boring. No Misty Upham either.

Funny Games shafted again. I wonder if Haneke can get in for directing at least?

This voting bloc leaning so hard on Tropic Thunder and In Bruges is freakin boring. No Misty Upham either. I haven't seen Pitt, I'm afraid. As for Upham, it was a stacked year for me and she couldn't break my ballot. She was by far the best thing about that movie. For me, the disappointing snubs (none of which are at all surprising) are: Love Exposure missing editing Elsa Zylberstein missing supporting actress for I've Loved You So Long

replace Farrell with Jenkins and that'd be a perfect lineup.

pretty solid lineup there. Lack of Haneke stings, especially because enough people saw Funny Games to get it a screenplay nomination but then it gets nothing else. What a shame. Revanche is terrific. Thank god Spielmann had support. But Stanton though? Why, MA?
