Lars's gift is pushing his actors and actresses to the brink and coaxing career-best work (if not all-time great turns) from them. Watson, Bjork, Kidman, Howard, Gainsbourg and Dunst all gave their best performances under his direction. Personally, I'm stoked to see an actor like Matt Dillon—a man I've always felt had more raw talent than he'd been able to exhibit—get a potentially intense, juicy part. |

oh yeah I agree stephen, I meant to respond to Ray in regards too the whole brutal part. I am also immensely, for better or for worse, there is usually a lot to talk about in any of his film, and personally I usually think for the better. |

Pity that's it's out of competition, would love to see Dillon getting an award there. |
