Wait, Cage and Huppert are still involved in "Siberia"? Best news in a long time.

My news is that I'm going to be seeing the based god King of New York himself, Abel Ferrara, and Willem Dafoe give a Q&A after a screening of Pasolini this weekend
I hope Ferrara punches me into the gutter and spits on my weakling body

Ignore the clickbait title. This is a cool article/interview with legend Dafoe where he talks about working with Ferrara, "Tommaso" among other things.

The cinematographer for Tommaso (who's worked on Herzog's last like fifteen projects) talks quite a bit about working on this one anddd I'm officially excited.....

Interesting trailer, tho makes it looks more propulsive and abstract than it is, I imagine. Dafoe looks great...

The Playlist C+ Indiewire C- Variety"a beautiful, unhinged, sometimes hilarious trek into geographical and psychological wilderness that will delight some and mystify many others." Hollywood Reporter"Unprepared audiences are likely to remain puzzled or angry" and "yet Dafoe remains a stalwart presence – it’s his fifth time playing the director’s alter ego – who provides an anchor in the shifting narrative sands" Screen DailyCalls it "visually striking but wildly inconsistent" and says Ferrara may be "trolling" This was bound to distance viewers - it's far from Ferrara's strengths too. Pasolini is horridly edited but has some good scenes when it calms down and lets its characters breathe. Welcome To NY has some convincing realism to it - that's there in the casting and some of Ferrara's eye for detail. But this project sort of forces his hand in post- not where he's skilled- and the trailer does look a bit lousy...

Taking away from the trailer, looks like it'll be visually impressive, those shots looked beautiful. Very much looking forward to it.

True Detective S4? Ferrara should cast himself, Dafoe, Walken, and Keitel in a one-room drama about a group of lifelong friends from the Bronx - call it Poker Night in Locust Point - they invite the local schnook (Buscemi, obv) who runs a bakery they robbed many years ago, to their weekly poker game; Buscemi shows up with pignoli cookies and coffees and, by the end, things get outta hand, kapeesh?

I saw Siberia at Berlinale and it was one of the worst things I've ever seen. It's batshit crazy but in the worst possible way.
