Great news! I knew Clint had another one in him...
I'd be on board with Cooper as the lawyer, tbh.

I was a little worried after The Mule seemed to be like some sort of farewell, even the premiere with all the family members, including his first wife and his "secret child".
So it's great to see him going forward, but without Warner Bros. this time.

Cool. I thought Clint did a good job overall with The Mule . Hoping this one delivers too!

Great news. I didn't expect he'd be back so soon. If he starts shooting summer, he'll be ready by the end of the year!
I hope he lives long enough to be 120 and keeps making films!!!

I hope that it's a better script than The Mule, at any rate. Also, Plemons is a must.

I’m genuinely curious as to why people are still excited for Clint Eastwood films? I get that he’s a legend but I feel like you have to weed through at least five terrible films to get a half decent one from him these days.

So Jonah Hill and DiCaprio are no longer attached to this project?

No denying that, I guess I was wondering aloud if he’s running off of past glory or if people are genuinely into his recent output. I’m personally at the point where I find myself hoping that my favourites aren’t attached to his films.

I’m personally at the point where I find myself hoping that my favourites aren’t attached to his films. For me, his last great film was American Sniper, just 4 years ago. And I could name 5 more films in the last 15 years. Yes, he's done a lot of stupid ones but again, 6 wonderful ones in 15 years is quite something. Anyway, he's given some of the best films I've seen (Unforgiven most of all) so yes, I look forward to any new movie of his.

Moving along. Good. No one's stopping Old Man Clint. Not even age.

In my opinion Clint made way too many real life based films during the last decade. And most of them left me kinda underwhelmed (haven't seen The Mule), especially when compared to his great run between 2004 and 2008. So this makes me feel a bit worried. On the other side the story is quite intriguing as well, so I have hopes.

He gets inspired by such true stories.
On the other hand, it's been many years he's made something completely fictious.

Clint is near 90 now. On a technical level everything he's directed in his 80s-90s decade shows a clear slip - and some of which has been pretty good like The Mule etc. suffers from sloppy craftsman lapses not just screenplay lapses - he'll never get that back.
There's a big difference between a guy who is 80 and a guy who's 89 - and even if there's not, this is a guy who's exhibited evidence of the slip too........I like his work, I like this story, and this proposed cast.........but the the Clint of the 2000s is not coming back post 2010 - there's only so far the upside can go......

Can't wait for Clint to deliver yet again!
Hyped that Rockwell is leading it... but who for Jewell...

Someone suggested Jesse Plemons for Jewell and honestly, that'd be a great casting choice. This is fine too.

Mmm, I didn't really like him in BlacKkKlansman and thought he was one of the weakest link. Howeer, I liked him in I, Tonya and brilliant on IASIP as a Juggalo, so hopefully his performance here will be more like those films and not like his performance in BKkK.

Really excellent news and perfect casting. This dude has been taking all the big roles for plus sized actors in indie movies for the last two years. Also, he was excellent in season 2 of Cobra Kai.

I am digging the castings here (can't go wrong with Rockwell and the other actor is a dead ringer for the lead character.) Also relieved that Jonah Hill isn't going to be the lead . Really can't stand him in most things.
