I'm actually curious about that. There just aren't alot of meaty roles for women (young or old) in most of the films by top directors, with one of the glaring exceptions being Woody Allen, who'd be too much of a PR mess for her to work with post #metoo. She might be better off doing some TV work, where there seems to be more good material. Homecoming served Julia Roberts pretty well. Wasn’t just offered the standout role in McQueen’s latest? I don’t see any stars of her ilk really struggling in this sense, most of which aren’t as big as she is overall, so I doubt it’s the case for her either. And the stigma around TV is dying down in recent years, but I don’t see her doing anything other than a a possible mini-series at this point . She’s still way too big of a star for a traditional television series. Julia Roberts is fifty years old with her best career years behind her. She fits the profile of someone who would do television way more than Lawrence. But at a certain point, you lose cachet and momentum, and I think she has. In an alternate reality, she does The Hateful Eight, Widows, It's What I Do, etc. and goes on some big streak, but that didn't happen. Now all of these big directors are booked up or years away from another movie. She needs O. Russell to give her something good soon after this movie.

It’s not top tier A-list hotstreak or television. I’d agree that she’s probably lost a bit of command as far as role choices and general star power, but you’re kidding yourself if you seriously think all of her opportunities have dried up in the span of five years due to a few modest performing films. She had such a big breakthrough and sustained that level of success long enough that she’ll be around for a while and will have to continue to fail spectacularly in order for this to even be a legitimate concern.

To be frank, her selection of films has been less than stellar... and the one movie people actually saw her in (Apocalypse), she was complete and utter shit in. I do really wish Red Sparrow was better than it was, because it could have been a really cool spy franchise, but alas, it was a way too bloated film.

While I think Lawrence is the most talented actress of her age range, I'll add my voice to the arguments being held in this thread. Her career choices have been pretty... vanilla and obvious. While Stewart and Stone are going weirder and cooler as time passes, and Ronan has been steadily getting work in more conventional, but still interesting movies, Lawrence tried to be a mega-star doing movies that aren't really interesting at all.
She insisted on working with DOR, and add that to the fact she played Katniss and Mystique in multiple things (even though I really like THG and her first two X-movies), we all had the impression she was doing the same thing over and over again. It doesn't help that her indie movies (except for Winter's Bone and Like Crazy) weren't very exciting either. It's an unfortunate, but it happens quite often that very talented people are just unlucky or can't properly choose projects that are interesting.
Also, we need to keep in mind that everyone's careers go through phases and phases. Pre-Sils Maria Stewart, pre-Birdman Stone and pre-Brooklyn Ronan (especially) weren't very stellar either.
