Watched Mesrine (Parts 1 & 2) over the weekend. This features an immaculate lead performance from Vincent Cassel, please watch!
This begs the question: Since this and Che are this year are we voting for them as one entity or separate things since they consist of two parts and were released at different times throughout the year?

I say single entities on principle, although I haven't seen either of them and these should probably be determined in a case-by-case basis.

I started watching JCVD on Prime, but they only have an English dubbed version. A very poorly English dubbed version. An English dubbed version in which they couldn't even get JCVD himself to participate in. I gave up after about ten minutes, it was so distracting.

could we possibly push back the deadline to June just to avoid conflicts with the 2018 AMARAs which have basically the same deadline? Between the Criterion Channel free trial and catching up on 2018 films, there's no way I'll have any time for anything 2008, which bums me out because there's a few I want to catch up on.

I'm probably going to miss this one. I've only seen 35 2008 films and that is not enough to base a ballot on. I planned to catch up, but it didn't work out that way. Oh well!
Still, I guess I'll try and catch up somewhat based on the nominees and then vote for the winners.
Anyway, a quick FYC for Original Screenplay:
In Bruges Happy-Go-Lucky Role Models Zack and Miri Make a Porno
...and an FYC for Everything you can fit them in:
Let the Right One In & In Bruges & WALL-E & Happy-Go-Lucky

Is Two Lovers considered an original or adapted screenplay? It’s said to be inspired by White Nights but I don’t think it’s officially based on it.
