Off the top of my head: Nicolas Cage ( Mandy, Mom and Dad, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) Mia Goth ( Suspiria, High Life) Robert Pattinson ( Damsel, High Life) Joe Alwyn ( Boy Erased, The Favourite, Mary Queen of Scots) Rachel Weisz ( Disobedience, The Mercy, The Favourite) Andrea Riseborough ( Mandy, Nancy)

Thanks all...can't believe I spaced on Weisz, she takes my top spot for sure. No one left more of an impression on me in last year's films.

Consider For:
Best Foreign Language Film
Best Visual Effects
Best Choreography Had no idea a live action movie of this even existed, but I will say the first 200 chapters or so of the manga were genuinely pretty awesome. It goes downhill pretty fast past that point, but still worth checking out. There's a plot twist in the Soul Society arc that is easily one of the best I've ever seen.

Sooooo the deadline is in around two and a half weeks and we only have one ballot so far. Maybe we'll extend it a bit, but either way it would be nice for some more ballots to be submitted soon so we don't have to tabulate 40ish ballots over the course of a few days... I'll see about voting before the end of this week if I can. I might just try and fit in a few more films before then. Time hasn't been my friend lately.

Voted. And y'all better come through for You Were Never Really Here -- I will not stand for it being screwed over because of its release date. I think it'll do pretty well. I have it in 2017, but I sill included it in 8 categories in my vote here and when I vote in the Top 50 poll, it'll be in my Top 5.

Fun fact: From the 7 ballots counted thus far, only one performance has been mentioned on all of them, from a film whose ensemble is also the only one mentioned on every ballot so far (except for one that didn't include the category).
And no, it's not the performance and film that you're probably thinking it is...
(And this performance is also listed on all three of the uncounted submitted ballots.)
