Why didn't they go the legitimate route and just donate a shitload of money directly to the school (where they can then pilfer to line their own wants and needs)??? Either they didn't have the 2.5 mil to do so or they didn't want to look like they had to donate money in order to get their kid in college. I'm going with the latter. So in other words, my daughter got into Georgetown and she had no help from us... LMAO!!!!

Did anyone read the evidence? The worst part about all this is that these kids had top notch k-12 private school education and private tutors and still needed to cheat.

evidence filecheck out the big brain on brad... ummm, I mean check out page 20. That is the writing sample of one of the kids who "scored" 35 out of 36 on the act. I mean really? This kid appears to have a learning disability and she is trying to pass him off as Mark Zuckerburg.

I need a Netflix documentary NOW I saw suggestions of the next season of American Crime Story being about this scandal with Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin playing themselves of course.

Lori is in much bigger trouble than Felicity, because for the past several years, she's worked almost exclusively for the Hallmark channel. It's a steady and lucrative gig, because she fits with the "wholesome" brand of Hallmark. But now that she's a cheating crook, she may not be so good for Hallmark's brand. They will probably have to fire her. Huffman isn't tied down like that, so she'll probably be able to ride out the shame and embarrassment for awhile and still work (if she isn't in jail). Remember, Martha Stewart went to prison, and her career recovered pretty well.

You never know...this could be a blessing in disguise for Lori, as some clever director might choose to cast her in a far more edgy role than she's managed to pull off before because of this. Lori epitomises the bland, generic American TV mom. And while she's made a very long and profitable career playing smiley mothers on TV, she's never exactly had much cred as an actress. I suppose the money and good life made up for it though. Now I could actually imagine someone like Lori being on Tarantino's casting radar.

The thing that she and Huffman have to do now is lean into it, as Stewart did. It took everyone by surprise that Stewart (the epitome of a homemaker) went to prison with nary a word, and people were cracking jokes about prison making her tough . . . and she played that up when she got out. That intimidating factor added to Stewart's popularity (together with her frequent association with Snoop), and I think that Laughlin and Huffman could benefit from that same type of PR if they owned up to what they did, took their lumps, and paid the piper.

Yes, I'm thinking that they have to be careful not to go into Winona Ryder territory after she was arrested for shoplifting and probably caused more damage by seeming like she was making fun of what happened. Apparently Felicity Huffman has some kind of mom blog that's popular, and it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for Lori Loughlin to do something in that area since her daughter's already an "influencer", whatever that is, and maybe play up the angle that any mom or parent would try to give their child all the advantages in life if they could. Be sure to include that they're very sorry but they were only trying to help their children, and something about how parents can make it worse for their children when they try to protect them too much.

Remember that was before social media. Christie Brinkley tweeted that Felicity signed up to teach soccer to kids and then paid someone else to do it.

Lori should have left her alone and lived her life. She clearly did not want to go to school. Who enrolls in school and doesn't attend first week cause of your makeup line? This is all on Lori, she just wanted to brag and validate herself as a parent.

Besides , she was already "rich" & "successful" enough to do whatever the F* she wanted.

I don't see how this is possible with Huffman considering that she's already a highly respected actress.

Loughlin is kind of possibly screwed, because she got by on the brand projected by her persona and appearence, not on any top shelf acting talent. If her brand as an honest, middle class mom is irreparably damaged, so is her career. Huffman is considered a major acting talent, so she's in a better place to rebound. I can see Loughlin becoming embittered by this and just letting all that repressed bitchiness out on social media going forward. It'll be freeing for her not to have to keep up this Goody-goody routine any longer.

I guess she has her husband's dough she can live off, but still, was it worth it in the long run? Privileged rich people are morons.
