In the 90s you had few, if any bands in the mainstream like these guys, and Flint spewing out "Firestarter" is one of the decades defining moments. He was a topnotch frontman for sure.

Not a fave act of mine but a very important one especially in terms of timing that was right on the cusp of the Internet-era which would sort of sap all the mystery and allure out of music culture - The Prodigy was made for music culture as an act. One of the few bands that sold themselves as a new Punk (soon thereafter, that would be absurd for a band to claim) and they had that element that all such bands really need: you couldn't possible understand their look, sound, impact unless you were on the inside, looking out at the world which made people on the outside looking in...........curious. They didn't look like you, or sound like the real (boring) world.....and they functioned with that kind of contradictory logic for a while. RIP, 49 is too young
