Anne Hathaway and Mathew McConaughey reunites under Steven Knight.
Looks intense. The shot with blood on the bed gives me Gone Girl vibes.SaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSave

Looks a little boilerplate in terms of the premise, but Steven Knight is one of the best screenwriters working today, so I have faith that he'll be subverting tropes left and right in order to keep us on our toes. It's hard for me to buy Hathaway as a femme fatale, but McConaughey looks good and I hope it gives Clarke and Lane enough to work with.

Can't say I'm that impressed by the trailer but the cast is so damn great that I sure am looking forward to it.

In general the best neo-noir stuff is auteur stuff - and here Knight is writer/director and part producer. That's a good sign - this stuff often gets watered down when the writer's vision is at the mercy of a gun for hire. Also, in addition to the fine cast (don't love Hathaway though but who knows), Jason Clarke gave one of this years best -so far- and most understated turns in Chappaquidick, as a spoiled, privileged man-child who wants to be better than he is but knows he can't really be.
His presence here piques my interest.....he's a perfect guy for this type of material, at least in Chappaquidick he was aces at playing one thing and suggesting something else.......

Clarke is an actor who has been on the cusp of truly breaking out for a while, but for whatever reason, he stalls just before he really hits it big. He's a good-looking guy who has leading man looks, but I almost feel like Joel Edgerton (who I'd argue is his rival as well as his closest analogue in terms of generation) took a lot of his thunder. It doesn't help that they kept cropping up in the same movies for a while. I think Edgerton is more inherently talented and has been able to showcase it more, but every time I see Clarke I just know that he's got a game-changer of a performance in him, and I want someone to take advantage of it already.

Finally something of worth for Djimon. He does not get enough roles/recognition.

I actually really liked that trailer, but then it's only a trailer so it means practically nothing in the end.

academy-award winner Matthew McConaughey, academy-award winner Anne Hathaway, academy-award nominated Diane Lane, academy-award nominated Djimon Hounsou, and Jason Clarke. Never gets old

It's hard for me to buy Hathaway as a femme fatale If it weren't for her performance in TDKR, I'd agree... though I'm curious to see how she'll handle this particular character, which could be a different type of femme fatale.

I'm down for this, but couldn't they give it a different name?

Intrigued. Femme fatale movies always draw me in for some reason, though many end up being trash in the worst sense. Hathaway's always good though, so I'm in for now.

...at some point in my life I legitimately became convinced this had something to do with astronauts, so I'm very very confused right now.

They could still give it a qualifying run. I wouldn’t say it’s a disaster yet.

I'm already on board (no pun intended), but this trailer seems to promise a completely different movie than the first one. The first one was a cold noir and nothing else. This one keeps pushing a supernatural element not present in the first one.
