7) Roma - Mexico/2018
8) Il Postino - Italy/1995
9) Life is Beautiful - Italy/1998

First five would have made for badass winners imo.

I wonder which one came closest to winning prior to Roma? Life is Beautiful was pretty popular. Crouching Tiger won DGA and some other stuff. And apparently Z had serious buzz back in 69.

The first three all great, I'm mixed on the next two, and Life is Beautiful is among my least favorite films of all-time.
