Antichrist is definitely a rough watch and I understand if you don’t get around to it. But if you do decide to watch it, perhaps you could schedule watching Black Dynamite (which is a really short movie) right after. Might help seeing something silly and hilarious right after watching something so disturbing. |

are y'all really going to watch Nine just for a song nomination?  It's not good. I couldn't imagine watching it just for one song (especially because most of the songs are nothing). To be fair it did deserve nods for supporting actress, costumes, and choreography (and cinematography too IMHo but I'm a sucker for Dion Beebe). It's one of those bad movies that's worth less than the sum of a few excellent parts. I suppose one positive is that it'll make you want to watch 8½ again, but still...120 minutes for a song you can see on youtube. Boggles the mind. On the flipside, maybe if more people watched it it would get a couple more deserved nods if we ever do these again. |

I've been wanting to see A Prophet and The White Ribbon for a while, and this just gave me the push I needed.
The lack of a Foreign Language Film category still hurts, so it's really nice to see two foreign films among the Best Picture nominees.
