Just started The Witcher II, I'm 2 hours in and still haven't made it past the prologue. The framing device so far to tell the story is really cool.
Combat's gonna take a while for me to get used to, though. Like a LONG while.

I seriously can't believe how much fun Dark Souls is. I'm replaying it again from the start, AND THIS TIME I SHALL SUCCEED. Just beat the Capra Demon after bursting into tears repeatedly upon dying half a second in five times straight. And that's the thing: Every time I lose, I grit my teeth, pull my belt tighter, wipe my eyes, take a deep breath, and try a different tactic. And when it works, there's so much fun in having pulled it off. No other game I've played keeps me coming back like this, even though every time I play I usually wind up thinking "it really isn't all that fun." But looking back on the glory days of taking out Ornstein and Smough, of encountering your first hollow swarm (I knew something was up when I saw two separate ghosts *sprinting* in the opposite direction of where I was headed), of seeing Anor Londo and knowing that somehow, against all odds, you've made it... two thirds of the way through the game? SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH- Seriously, fuck those stupid dogs. Dogs in the SoulsBorne series are a goddamn disgrace. As a Souls "veteran", I can proudly say that no game will ever beat the feeling of finally seeing Anor Londo for the first time. It's a tough game, but truly fair. Have you ever tried Bloodborne? I think it might be my favourite

I think it might be my favourite Only got a PS3. The reason I'm going back to this is because I was thinking about DS2, and if I'm going to play that I've gotta put Gwyn out of his misery, dammit. It may not be the easy thing, but it's the right thing. I'm going for a 100% strength build with an ultra greatsword, but I'm still level 16 after beating the Gaping Dragon, so I'm still using basic equipment upgraded. Fun fact: first time I fought that thing I was literally saying "aww, it's so cute" out loud then it poked that adorable little... antenna thing out. And then the rest of it came up and I was like "ohhhhhh shit." I was almost laughing too hard to actually fight it. Which was fine, since I ran around and let my ally defeat it (it wasn't until my second playthrough that I even got to fight it instead of staying 200 yards back and looking on bemusedly). Edit: And I got through the depths without getting cursed once! Mainly because when I accidentally fell down there I was lucky enough to get attacked by rats. I saw the basilisk coming and ran at the rats to die. Then I came back to pick up my booty with two phantoms in tow, and told *them* to kill the one basilisk nearby and waved them on to fight the dragon with me. One didn't make it, alas, but we fought valiantly in his stead.

I'm going hollow... must fight back... must rekindle the flame... must get through Sen's Fortress without getting my head chopped off...
God, this game is torture. Why do I subject myself to this. I don't do this "difficult game" thing.
...Well, back to Darkroot Garden I go, to carefully (CAREFULLY!!!) fight my way to 30,000 souls and level up a tad, maybe play a little PvP if I can actually find someone (I'm in Path of the Dragon, so maybe if I put down a duel sign in the Garden I can practice, since the Forest Hunters make it a PvP hotspot).

At the moment I'm going through and replaying all the Arkham games. Finally trying to go for 100% on them. Have gotten all but the challenge medals for Asylum and City. Now onto Origins again to try and finally finish all the side missions/trophies which I didn't do the first time around. After that will move onto Knight which will help me decide at last whether I prefer this or City as my favorite of the bunch.
At the same time I've been playing Switch games with the gf, primarily Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which is a blast and finally feels like Melee which is one of my favorite games. I was pretty disappointed the few times I played Brawl as the mechanics just sucked by comparison. This is so much better and love how many characters there are (though do we really need three Links and three Samuses when there are so many more characters in the Mario world alone?). Also have been playing some Mario Kart 8 which is super fun too, though my gf and I suck at it and we're currently trying to 3-star all the levels at 150cc and we're still losing haha. But still fun.
Lastly, the gf and I finished the Crash Bandicoot Remastered Trilogy not too long ago and have finally moved onto the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. I hated Spyro when I was younger because the levels were so damn difficult, but so far it's actually been a breeze (save the Flight levels) compared to Crash. Maybe it'll be different once I get to Ripto's Rage as that's the one I remember playing more.
Hopefully after I finish all of these I can finally buy Spider-Man for PS4 and give that a go as I've been dying to play it.

I heard that the Crash Remastered Trilogy amped up the difficulty, and that a lot of things would seem easy after Crash. I really dug Arkham Asylum, but the open world setting of City was poorly designed, I felt. Too much focus given to FREEDOM and not enough focus given to WAYS TO KILL PEOPLE. Seriously, there's only so many of those fistfights I can do before getting bored out of my mind.

I love it, and I’ve been playing the hell out of Inkling and Ridley. The one sad thing is that no one is ever around to play with me, and any additional controllers would say up my cash. Trouble with the trolley, eh? I’m of a very similar opinion to Spyro, in that I hated the original game (and the two sequels were infinitely better), but the remaster made it so much more enjoyable. And these games have never controlled more satisfyingly. Crash has kind of been frustrating me, because there’s so much trial and error. Dude, you’re in for a treat.

Seriously, there's only so many of those fistfights I can do before getting bored out of my mind. That would certainly make a lot of sense. Though I remember getting pretty frustrated with Crash when I was younger too, but I was overly competitive as a kid lol. But yeah, it was pretty tough this time around too. Shame you felt that way about City as that's exactly why I love it (and Knight) so much. There is just so much to explore and I feel like I'm actually in Gotham which makes it so much fun to actually play as Batman whereas Asylum was just kind of a decent trial run before the real thing IMO. I suppose it's true the combat style is repetitive, but only if you're like me and aren't very good with the combo moves. In actuality, I feel there are so many moves that I haven't even tried because I can never get more than one medal in the combat challenges ha.

Ryan_MYeahThat's a shame to hear, though to be fair it's pretty much just been me and my girlfriend playing all of these games. It's nice, but it would probably be so much more fun with a group. We've mostly just been playing here and there since she's just learning how to even play video games altogether (my doing lol). I will say, she's pretty great with Ridley, but I am no good with Inkling. My go-to characters are Little Mac, Wario, Lucina, Roy, or Captain Falcon, but I enjoy playing as all of them really. To be fair, I don't think I ever played the very first Spyro. I think I dove right into Ripto's Rage when I was younger and I gave up before I think I even got 15% of the way into the game because it was so difficult for me. Curious to see how it would be now. I will say I'm so happy with the remasters. They really bring the games to life and at the same time make the controls/mechanics much more fluid (even if controlling Spyro while he supercharges is killing me slowly). We barely beat Crash, but I doubt I could 100% it in my lifetime because so many of those level completions were pure luck. So believe me, I understand. So excited for Spider-Man. That's kind of why I've gotten back into the Arkham games because they seem very similar and thought my gf would enjoy them.

I challenge someone to a Dragon Duel in Dark Souls and the bastard kills me while I'm bowing. Uncool, man. I like this covenant because all of the other people I've fought have been sportsmanlike and gracious in victory and defeat. I knew it was gonna happen sometime, but it's still a dick move.

Ha! I beat a guy dueling him twice in a row in Dark Souls, so he began doing dirty tricks like standing behind my respawn point and trying to backstab me as I spawned (it didn't work, I saw what he was doing and rolled out of the way). After he kept trying the same bullshit on subsequent duels, I just decided to run away and make him fight some Black Knights, since he was being so cheap about his play. He quit after that.
Too bad, I had this lovely acid surge waiting for the guy. I would have liked to see how he handled his sword breaking.

So I played Portal 2, and it was okay. Better gameplay, weaker atmosphere/story. I'm now on Dark Souls 2, and... I'm just kind of confused by this one. Enemies attack from around corners where you can't lock on to them while another jumps on you from behind. The jumping mechanics are bad (they weren't incredible in the first game, but they made a lot more sense than mapping the movement and jump commands to the same button). The atmosphere is decent enough right now: Drangleic feels much more like Alice stepping into Neverland than Lordan's medieval fantasy setting, and I'm not sure what to make of that. At the moment it's okay.

The Secret of Monkey Island.
It's definitely one of the easier point-and-click adventure games... but some of the logic in it makes me want to go into the game and choke a bitch.

It's loop is a blast to me. Travel is fun on the bike, the graphics are gorgeous & The soundtrack is surprisingly good. The story is just okay. It seems as if they (Bend) clearly wanted to tell an emotional story though they either did not have the time or the talent to pull it off.
