Conker’s Bad Fur Day.
What a fun ass game. The only issue I have with it is that the camera movements are quite annoying, but Conker Live and Reloaded fixes that which is why it’s a top 5 game of all time for me. Plus the multiplayer on Live and Reloaded far outweighs the multiplayer on Bad Fur Day. I’m currently on the part where I chase the cavemen through the lava.

After finishing Uncharted 2 (SO MUCH BETTER THAN ITS PREDECESSOR!), I'm diving into The Legend of Mana. So far, this is silly, easy-going nonsense, but it's making me smile. I mean, it has penguin pirates. Who can't smile at the thought of penguin pirates?

Frustrating at times because of the limitations and wonky camera, but so joyous both in its hilarious and surreal world, and so clever in how it changes up the old platformer-collectathon mold. And Conker is one of my favorite game characters ever. Its not my favorite Rare game (That honor still belongs to DKC2), but it’s one of their finest.

Fallout 4 and Sims 4 mostly. I'll probably be playing those until I can get my hands on Assassin's Creed Origins and Far Cry 5 but I'm not in any rush. I like to wait for sales. I'd love to play Horizon Zero Dawn too, but I'm not about to buy a goddamn console just for one game. Thanks, Sony.

I'll probably play it until I'm absolutely sick of it, like I did with Skyrim.

I quit Legend of Mana pretty quickly. I moved on to the PS3 version of Twisted Metal. I'm... very conflicted on it. Only doing single player right now, though I imagine that multiplayer is where it shines.
On the one hand, the battles are a lot of fun, if far too complicated for a more casual gamer like me (I remember the days when TM maps were simple, weapons were easy to understand, and a sick fascination with violence didn't soil the experience).
However, there are three big drawbacks: the first is that the presentation of the game makes me feel dirty. It's just... sick. Can't I blow up cars and have fun doing it without being treated to profanity laden "music" and sickeningly violent "movies?" Can't I have a happy world where I can, say, run over goombas instead of people? Just saying, that when Donald Trump points the finger at violent video games, it's trash like this that he's looking at.
The second is something I already mentioned: The control schemes are ridiculously complex. Every car has such different weaponry and such different movement styles, and I would need to practice for hours with each one to become halfway proficient with any of them. And there's even a helicopter that has a different control scheme entirely! It's enough to make me tear my hair out. Side note: Also pisses me off that every time I start up a special attack that needs charging, I immediately get frozen, wasting the entire weapon. I wouldn't mind against real players, but the computer has this ability to know exactly when I'm charging up.
The third point is that some of the stages are just godawful. I'm stuck on a race right now that requires perfect reflexes to get through, because most of the gates are hidden from view... meaning that I have to slow down and let someone pass me to even see where the next damn gate is. Furthermore, if I get hit by Road Boat, I may as well declare game over due to his ridiculous special throwing me a mile off course. Several of the maps are so full of overpasses and complicated roads that I can't go far from my garage if I want to survive, since I'll never find my way back.
But the good stuff may make up for it yet. As I said, the actual gameplay of blowing stuff up is still solid. There is still the old-fashioned arcade style Twisted Metal mayhem underneath all of the clunky controls, overstuffed maps, and grotesque atmosphere. And despite my complaints about Talon's controls... I GET TO FLY A HELICOPTER AND BLOW CARS UP FROM THE SKY!!!! That's awesome, I don't care that I have problems using it.

The Last of Us (PS4 remake) - It's still the greatest film I have ever played. Troy Baker is one hell of a talent Awesome. I only have the PS4 version myself. Question though: Are you going for plat or even 100% trophy? I can guarantee you Grounded mode is a pain in the ass! Also, don't fucking get me started on Factions! BTW, I'm currently on my 2nd play through of Arkham City. You can find my account here since I've been trophy hunting (no, not that kind) myself. This keeps track of what game I'm currently playing. psnprofiles.com/ARH65512

I've been in a bad mood. After getting repeatedly pissed at Twisted Metal, I decided to lay off of it for now. I wasn't having fun with it. This left me upset that I didn't have a game (I could replay something, but I didn't feel like it). Since I had 15 bucks in my PSN wallet that has been sitting there for God knows how long, I decided to spend them on a download game (never done one of those before). Since I had heard it was easy-going, I went with Journey. The price tag made me choke and got me even more sour (come on, the game is three hours long!) but I stuck with it.
I started and finished it today.
God, I love this game. I love it so, so much. I'm tearing up right now. Shit. I'm gonna take some me time, okay? And to my dear companion (wherever you are), thank you for everything. Even that time you laughed at me when I hit my head on the ceiling. I admit, it was pretty funny.

Spyro the Dragon - The sequels are so much better. Product of their times they may be, they’re more fluid (and a hell of a lot more varied) than this one.

Had fun with it the more I progressed. But it’s such a chore to get there. Nearly every level is indistinguishable from the others, and I never felt any challenge, any reward, or any sense of enjoyment out of gaining every collectible. It doesn’t help that Spyro controls very inconsistently, without giving me the decency of hovering, and any time he charges, it’s like I’m sliding on ice. If this were Spyro’s only onscreen appearance, he wouldn’t even be worth remembering compared to Banjo or Crash. Now I’m reminded why I disliked this game so much as a kid, and why the sequels blow it out of the water. At least this means I can enjoy Ripto’s Rage right after.

After taking 93 years to install, I started playing Final Fantasy XV Saturday morning. I'm actually really enjoying it. I learned to read playing FF7 (really! I spoke with my mom about it just to be sure!*), and I am very, very protective of the series (even the games before it, such as 5 and 6, are fantastic). Unfortunately, the PS2 era kind of killed it for me. FFX was weak on gameplay, but I enjoyed the story a lot (Yuna has even been a sort of a conscious role model for much of my life). X-2... no, I don't even want to talk about it. XI was MMO, which meant that us kids in the countryside with shitty dial-up would never be able to play it. XII had a pretty cool plot full of politics and treason and all sorts of cool stuff that I normally eat up, but the characters were some of the blandest I've ever seen -- and the gameplay was just godawful in every way. I haven't played XIII or XIV yet, although I might try them. XV, though... it looks like it captures the magic. I saw IGN's first 15 minutes of play preview, and the tone captured the old joy of jumping into FF. We had courtly intrigue (I love my courtly intrigue), but it was with the four friends having to push that broken down car down the highway as "Stand by Me" began playing that it came alive, and I said "now this looks like the kind of story I loved as a kid." The gamplay didn't look all that special, but I can forgive most gameplay problems if I'm invested in the story. FF is my first love, and even if I don't have a PS4, I'm super excited to hear good things about the newest installment. It seems that the franchise has fallen on hard times recently, but I've never truly given up the faith. *The story is that mom was teaching me to read, but when my brother began playing FF7, I wanted in on the action. So he read the game to me as I played, until I caught on and was able to work it out for myself. The game gave me a motivation to learn. God bless Don Corneo and Cid Highwind.

So he read the game to me as I played, until I caught on and was able to work it out for myself. The game gave me a motivation to learn. God bless Don Corneo and Cid Highwind. My first interaction with the franchise was Tactics. I never had access to the main franchise games until college, but my aunt bought me Tactics for Christmas one year, and I loved it. It's got my favorite storyline in the entire franchise (and it's very Game of Thrones-esque, because obviously it's based off of the War of the Roses but the translator also makes reference to ASOIAF in it), and while the gameplay mechanic itself isn't my favorite, it still holds a special place in my heart. Since then, I've beaten the first four games, got extremely far into Final Fantasy V (I lost the cartridge in the process of moving one year), I've come to the final dungeon twice on VII (I've been playing both this and X off-and-on over the last year, and I'm gunning for 100% completion for VII, so all I need is to beat the two superboss Weapons and face Sephiroth), I'm in the penultimate dungeon in X, and now I'm on the final boss in XV's story mode. I will say I was leery about XV for the longest time, but in playing it, I really dig the gameplay and the characters just feel rich and have a strong dynamic. "Stand By Me" is very appropriate in that regard. With that said, I'm more of a Legend of Dragoon man.
