I'm playing Assassin's Creed: Unity since it became avaiable for free a few days ago. And I'm loving it. I watched my sister play that for a bit. It bugged me that all those Frenchman has British accents. Very cool of Ubisoft to make the game free though in response to the Notre Dame fire. Very classy move on their part!

Been trying to get all the achievements on my older games... so I've been playing a lot of Westerado lately.
The game cost a dollar, can be beaten in less than an hour (when you know what you need to do)... but it has 79 ACHIEVEMENTS! I only have 56 so far... ugh.

66/79 now!
But god damn, these are fucking unforgiving. You do one thing out of step and you have to start all over from scratch.

73/79... despite the fact that I did another 3 of them (got the exact scenario needed for the achievement) and it didn't register, only to find out from the devs themselves that there are a few bugged achievements... I give up.

I finished the first three Uncharted games and really need a PS4 right about now. For the longest time I considered Half-Life 2 my favorite game and thought nothing could top it. Then I played Uncharted 4, and for the past few months I've been grappling with dethroning Half-Life 2. It's just so good - but the amazing thing is that it benefits from having played through the previous 3. Really gives the whole series this wonderful arc.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest (Replay) - The more this game ages, the more I appreciate it. It’s just the most perfect video game one could ever hope for, and it’s no wonder Rare used to be my favorite developer. Also, how amazing is the soundtrack? Just LISTEN to this:

The Catwoman Boning Simulator Batman: The Telltale Series Two chapters in. Never played one of these Telltale games before, but this is pretty fun.
Edit: Three chapters in, and I have slept with Catwoman, punched Oz in the face and made Harvey cry like a little girl. If I died right now, my life could be complete.

It's just so good - but the amazing thing is that it benefits from having played through the previous 3. Really gives the whole series this wonderful arc. I didn’t realize you finished the series. Glad that you loved it. But I gotta hear more thoughts if you get the time. And are you gonna try out The Lost Legacy? I may have written them somewhere on here, but I'll do my best as it has been nearly a year since I finished the series. The first in the series was a bit of a slog for the first half of the game as the levels get a bit repetitive, but what continues to make it captivating are the characters and the story. Plus the balls-to-the-wall final third is the stuff I live for with video games. Always able to get away with things that most mediums are afraid to try. Probably my least favorite of the series, but only because everything that came after is just so damn good it makes a great game like this one feel vastly inferior. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is everything the first one promised, but delivers a story that's infinitely more engaging (like how is that possible?), graphics and set-pieces that are more heart-pounding and raise the stakes, and brings you to a large variety of locations that makes you realize just how... green the first one was. It took reflecting on the four games as a whole to realize why this one is so well-loved and made me realize I was kind of a fool for always placing this one last in the series (even though all of the first three are interchangeable when it comes to ranking the series IMO). It's probably the most cinematic of the series as well which just pleases my cinephile side to no end. If Indiana Jones had a baby with James Bond and turned it into a video game, that's what this game would be. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception constantly wars with the second for me in terms of placement. I went in thinking there wasn't really a way to top what the first two had done, and yet somehow it did. Not as varied with the locations and maybe the story wasn't quite as sharp as Among Thieves, but it managed to raise the stakes once again and also wasn't afraid to take risks with either the story, the characters, or with video game rules (I mean, that whole Sahara Desert sequence is brilliant and yet you hardly do jack shit during the whole sequence). Would love to replay this one as well as having now finally seen Lawrence of Arabia and remembering that the game had so many references to it, I feel I may appreciate it even more. Probably the most "treasure hunter" of them all and I love it. Of course, it's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End that truly blew my mind. As mentioned before in this thread, Half-Life 2 has always been my favorite video game. It was one of the first whose story I actually paid attention to and one where the second I finished it I wanted to play it all over again. Very, very few games have made me feel that way since, but Uncharted 4 was easily one of them. And the best part is that there is absolutely so much to do and explore, the levels, set-pieces, and game play are so varied, and the story and characters are just so engaging that it might be even more of a blast to play it a second or third or even tenth time. Easily the best script of the whole series IMO and likely Nolan North's finest hour with the franchise as well. Troy Baker is strong, too, and they have a fantastic chemistry. The second I finished the game, it almost felt like catharsis - that feeling I only felt once before when playing Half-Life 2 for the first time. Once I do a play-through of each again, I'll know for sure which is my favorite game, but for now I'm giving the edge to Uncharted 4 because it was maybe the most perfect yet most entertaining game I've ever played. Overall, an amazing series. The fourth is my favorite obviously, but even then it benefits greatly from having played and loved each of the three before it. As much as I would love a fifth, the fourth was just too strong of a finale that it almost feels like sacrilege to try and continue it. I've bought The Lost Legacy and may actually start playing it soon (been putting it off for a while only because I know when I finish that that's all the new Uncharted I'll have to play). Can't imagine it'd be better than the series, but each game has proven me wrong before. Very excited.

idioticbunnyAlways happy to see these games earn a fan. Can’t really argue with you about the first. I still think it’s a good starter, but I’ve replayed it the least of the five. It just gets so repetitive and static after a while (ALL JUNGLES!!!), and the shooting mechanics hold up the least of the bunch. Some great set-pieces, and I love the characters, but it gets so much better. Of course, you know how much I love Uncharted 2, and how much of a dream come true it was as an adventure film lover’s fantasy. The only real ding I have against it is Lazarevic, who’s a pretty weak villain, but at least Flynn picks up a lot of the slack in that department. It’s like pure encapsulated adrenaline. 3’s an interesting case for me. While I love the story and gameplay, and the set-pieces are some of the best in the series (my mouth was agape at cargo plane), the erratic pacing really threw me off. Also, it felt like too many cooks were working in the kitchen, because it feels like it’s shedding plot threads a lot, sometimes the second they’re introduced. The behind the scenes problems didn’t really help (Elena and Cutter’s roles had to be trimmed, because their actors had to film other projects), and it seems like the game was implying Sully would make a traitorous turn at some point, but then it cowered away from that. Still, for what issues it had, it was still really satisfying. And 4 is just phenomenal. By every technical sense, it’s perhaps the greatest of the bunch. A great encapsulation of everything that’s made the series the juggernaut it is, with the added benefit of the best story in all the games. In fact, I may actually prefer it to 2, because it’s not only every bit as good, but it easily has the best performances and characterization, as well as the best villain in Rafe. If I hadn’t followed this game extensively, I’d have never guessed there were production troubles (Amy Hennig - the original series director - was dropped, and Neil Druckmann had to come in right after The Last of Us to course correct). Everything is so tight, focused, and well-rounded. I adore it. I hope you’ll have fun with The Lost Legacy. Chloe and Nadine make for a great pair, and it’s got some great set-pieces (the climax is a heart attack and a half), even if it has another weak villain.

Ryan_MYeahOf course! I didn't expect much from these games as I've never been much of an adventure film fan, but I was surprised by how much I just absolutely loved these games. I definitely agree that their weakest spots are with the villains, but the fourth definitely gave all the characters more depth than previous games had. I'm sure what you might not have liked about the third is actually what I loved in that I enjoyed how many risky decisions it made with both the story and game mechanics. I didn't realize that there were ever any behind-the-scenes issues with these games, but then again I guess I never bothered to look into it either. Only makes me appreciate the fourth game more though. Very excited to check out Lost Legacy if only as a fan of the series, and since I'm pretty forgiving of the series' flaws as a whole, if you say it's good enough, I'll probably enjoy it quite a bit. Thanks for reigniting that flame that makes me want to play these all over again.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (Replay) - Forgotten just how good this game was. I still love Uncharted 2, which was an adrenaline rush and a half, but this just has that extra something to it. I just got to the drive to New Devon, and it really put that in perspective. There’s no action, no dialogue, it’s just Nate and Elena sitting silently in the car, with nothing but the music playing. That’s all it is, but that’s all it needs to communicate EVERYTHING.
This is a phenomenal game. Neil Druckmann, keep doing what you do.

I'm playing... um... Undertale. The reviews are all great, so why is the game so lackluster? I mean, it isn't terrible, just uninspired and lifeless. If I want an indie game lecturing me on the morality of killing monsters, I'll play the far less simplistic Iji. That game has some pretty sick gameplay and a story that wasn't written by a 60 year old man complaining about violence in video games these days.
Edit: And now I'm just listening to the Iji soundtrack and wondering why I'm not playing that. Damn, I don't even have it downloaded on this computer. When I'm done being thoroughly-unimpressed-but-not-bored-enough-to-quit Undertale, I think I'm gonna get in the crossfire of an alien war, baby.
