Actually think Dano fits an egomaniac and pompous intellectual with a short temper you just want to punch in the face. So I’m way more down for this than the casting earlier this week with Kravitz as Catwoman.

now that's more like it! IMO Dano is a more than solid choice for the Riddler. As someone else mentioned in here, he is versatile as hell and held his own vs DDL in There Will Be Blood.

Never could stand him in anything - he's one of the flaws in TWBB (and flawed opposite DDL in The Ballad of Jack and Rose also) ........but he was out of nowhere great and nodworthy in Love & Mercy......so he's quite the riddle so, um, uh......sure why not.

I can definitely see Dano effectively capturing the kind of pettiness, entitlement, and dangerous cunning I imagine for The Riddler's persona.

If they’re looking at comedians-turned-dramatic-actors for Penguin, Steve Carrell in Foxcatcher mode.

When Penguin was being rumored as the villain for the third Nolan Batman I thought PSH would have been perfect. Out of the running now

Dano is a much better choice for Riddler than Hill.

Now cast Eddie Marsan for The Penguin and we’re golden. I didn't know that you were secretly Edgar Wright.

As much as I love what Zimmer and Newton Howard did with Nolan's trilogy, I think it would be cool to see a return to a more traditional, thematically driven musical approach to the Batman world, which is what I'd expect from Giacchino given his recent work scoring comic book films. Some of his past work evokes Elfman to me, so it'll be interesting to see to what extent his music for this might reflect that style.

Giacchino is an excellent choice. His Fallen Kingdom score screams Batman.

Colin's a bit of a leftfield pick for Penguin.I'm not mad at it though,he's a really underrated actor.Less happy about Serkis as Alfred.

The casting here is just odd. Andy Serkis seems a much more obvious pick for Penguin than Farrell. Sure Farrell could act the role, but Penguin is typically never a looker, so I don"t see the point of hiring Farrell to ugly him up for this role, when the guy you have playing Alfred could do it in his sleep.
I dunno...I'm getting soms nervous Zack Snyder vibes here. Remember when he thought he could reinvent the wheel by casting Jesse Eisnberg as Lex Luthor, and what a disaster that turned out to be.
