That's a good point. Even her role in Big Little Lies is minor in that show in the context of things, though I did find her strangely alluring, which is a perfect trait for the role of Catwoman. Her biggest parts to date as far as major films go, have been in Mad Max: Fury Road, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (also both WB films for the record), and a few minor indies, but nothing of significant note otherwise. It's hard for me to judge her as a performer, because she really hasn't been given the opportunity to stretch her chops. Plus for all we know, she could blow-it out of the water as Catwoman. I actually think she's inspiring casting a bit. Agreed. There is something alluring and mysterious about Kravitz, but yeah, she's hard to judge as a performer because she's not really been given much to work with. But she's clearly more than competent, and I can see her stepping up to the plate with bigger and better roles coming her way. Plus it doesn't hurt to have some of the greatest working actresses on speeddial to ask advice on how to approach a role like Catwoman. On the physical side of things, I think her bone structure and eye shape (which is almost feline) really aid this casting as well. She's got a great appearance and figure that would fit with Catwoman as well. I'd also have to imagine that she's already been working out for the part, given how much it requires actresses to be athletic, having to jump a lot from high areas, and so-forth.

Catwoman is just such a star role. The lists of actresses who auditioned for it for Batman Returns and TDKR is pretty much a who's who of the top actresses at those times. So I was expecting someone who was already a star whenever this got announced. They appear to want newer faces, as I said in my earlier post. I think some of the bigger names in Batman's Rogues Gallery (like Joker or Catwoman) have reached such iconic status with audiences, that you don't need a huge name to sell the characters to the public. Once people know these characters will be in the movie, you now have their full attention. Sure you could still get bigger names for the role, but I think the studio can be easily convinced now by a director that you can cast lesser known actresses in the part and the role itself will intruige audiences. As with Batman himself, you can cast a big star or a lesser known actor, but people will still show up because he's Batman. Wasn't talking about it from a commercial perspective, just for the part to work you need somebody with enormous screen presence so someone who's a proven star would be the safest bet. Moreso than Batman or Joker where you can just cast some young studly guy for Batman or a solid character actor for Joker.

Not sure if I've seen Kravitz in anything.
But maybe they shouldn't have used Catwoman again anyway...

What exactly is Reeves making anyway? Catwoman, Jonah Hill as Penguin (possibly?). Another Batman Returns kind of movie?

Becoming kinda skeptical of this project but Reeves' Apes sequels were so fucking damn good that I will still give this a chance (even though I'm not too excited with Jonah Hill & Zoe Kravitz being cast in this).

If hill is playing the joker, they should get zach as penguin. That guy on Gotham was good and should have at least scored an emmy nod but of course the genre hurt him.

Just saw that Kravitz is 5'2" which makes her the shortest Catwoman ever. Pattinson is almost a whole foot taller than her...

I know it can't be real, but I did see people that I follow on Twitter talking about certain parts of it yesterday which made me think that there was some kind of reliable source. Some of the names I was excited about; although I found really unlikely like Adam Driver playing Scarecrow, but others I can't really see even if I think the actor is a good actor like Timotheé Chalament as Robin. Also is Firefly really that big of a villain because otherwise if they really are including a character like that, maybe they should just make it as campy and fun as the television series and include Bookworm, Egghead, King Tut, Louie the Lilac, etc. I Googled them, and apparently they've been around since 1952, and they were on Smallville, but this is the first time I've ever heard of them.

That list is a fake!! Can't be real. Furthermore, I don't think they'll go with more than 3 villains.

Not buying that cast either. David Tennant has been every nerd’s laziest fan cast pick for Riddler for years.

Not sure if I've seen Kravitz in anything. But maybe they shouldn't have used Catwoman again anyway... I love Catwoman, legit one of my favorite fictional characters although that is largely due to Pfeiffer's take on the role. Wish she could have done that long rumored solo movie.

Honestly I don't want to see another movie with Catwoman. I only liked Pfeiffer on the role. Batman's universe is full of villains I'd like to see in a film rather than Catwoman.

Interrrresting ... to me I feel like The Riddler is a role that should almost always go to a comedic actor pivoting into more serious stuff (but also not really, because it's The Riddler and it's a comic book movie, lol) and Dano doesn't at all fit the bill of what I'd expect for the role ... that said I'll basically never say no to him getting more roles especially in something this major. A weird choice but I wouldn't complain if it happens ... Dano does have a perfect villain look to him so I guess I can see the logic behind it, I'm just not sure Riddler is the right role for him ... maybe Victor Zsasz or something...

I think it’s a great choice because he’s versatile as hell. His characters have always teetered between serious and kooky in a way, and this seems like the perfect role to blend the two together in a much more complete fashion.

In general, I never really was fond of The Riddler character. However, let us see what Dano brings to the table.
