My stream went to 144p right after the announcement of Vice, like my internet provider was too disgusted to show its name.

Once again, the Academy ops to nominate only 8 films when they could've gone up to 10. Makes no sense.
I guess Cooper missing pretty much seals the deal on this being between Roma and Green Book?

Some inspired nominees tbh but that was nullified by some awful ones.

How many more times is Emily Blunt going to finish in sixth/seventh place?!

I wonder could Cooper missing Director play into his hands in the reasonably open Actor race.

Green Book didn't get director nomination either. I guess Roma is pretty much a done deal with two suprise acting nominations.

Who does Emily Blunt need to blow to get a nomination? Just one. Is all I ask. Jesus christ. 13 years of bad luck right there. Snubbed year after another. She will never be Oscar nominated

And the Oscars decide to rob Paddington 2, an animated film which is also the best film of the year (Coco in 2017, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018) and a Ryan Gosling film (Blade Runner 2049 in 2017, First Man in 2018) of their deserving Best Picture nominations once again.

Glad for Schrader and Pawlikowski. Leading Actress nominees ended up being the ones I predicted from the start. Sad Collette and Hawke missed. Well, at least Dafoe made it.
And why the hell do they nominate only eight films when they can nominate ten? I never understood that.

I wonder could Cooper missing Director play into his hands in the reasonably open Actor race. It's possible, but if Malek takes SAG and BAFTA I really don't see that playing out.

So unless I got this wrong, The Favourite, BlacKkKlansman and Vice are the only films to hit Picture, Director, Screenplay, acting and Editing, right?
Roma missed Editing (but overperformed big time by hitting both sound categories and getting its two actresses nominated).
Green Book missed Directing.
Be gone, stats.

Ok: so we have "The Favourite", "Vice" and "BlacKkKlansman" getting the two important nods in Directing and Editing, whereas the presumed favorites "Green Book" and "Roma" miss one of them each.
That's interesting.
